AML/Name Screening - Due Diligence Analyst 2

Charlotte, NC or Des Moines, IA

6 Months+ Contract on W2

Hybrid 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote

The AML & Client Name Screening Analyst will be responsible for conducting client name screening, reviewing adverse media, news screening, performing materiality assessments, and supporting financial crime risk identification.

The role requires strong analytical, research, and investigative due diligence skills to evaluate screening alerts, determine the relevance of adverse media to the subject under review, and document clear, evidence-based conclusions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in name screening, AML, financial crimes, regulatory compliance, or risk identification, with demonstrated exposure to adverse media analysis and quality control processes.

Legal or Financial Crimes investigation background would be ideal.

Screening Tools: A Third-party Screening Aggregator tool, Moody’s, Lexis Nexis, Thomson Reuters

This is within consumer banking space and 5-year look back of all clients and 24-hour look back of existing clients

SLA: 30-days timeline for Materiality assessment

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Name Screening: Conduct and review client name screening alerts to identify potential matches and assess their relevance to financial crime, regulatory, and risk-related concerns.
• Adverse Media Screening: Review and interpret adverse media articles to identify the subject of the article, the alerting party, and the alerting party’s specific role or connection to the reported event.
• Materiality Assessment: Evaluate the relevance, credibility, and significance of adverse media findings to determine their materiality and potential implications for the subject's risk profile.
• Research and Investigative Due Diligence: Perform research to validate information contained in adverse media articles, corroborate relevant details, and identify missing or inconsistent data attributes.
• Alert Analysis and Resolution: Analyze screening alerts, distinguish relevant findings from unrelated or false-positive matches, and support appropriate alert disposition based on available evidence and established procedures.
• Risk Identification: Identify information that may indicate potential financial crime, regulatory, reputational, or other relevant compliance risks and escalate material concerns in accordance with established protocols.
