SUMMARYThe Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB) is a comprehensive human services organization in Middlesex County, New Jersey. We provide a comprehensive range of essential services for children, youth, families, and senior citizens. We deliver need-based assistance to low and moderate-income residents of Central New Jersey and serve as advocates for those seeking to live productive, self-sufficient lives.Energy Auditors evaluate the energy efficiency, health and safety of a home, and use diagnostics equipment to identify areas for energy savings. Verify compliance of retrofit work performed based on work plans and standards. Develop reports that specify corrective actions to achieve optimal whole house performance. The Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for low–income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring health and safety.RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral FunctionsPerform Residential Energy Audits (test in/test out) in accordance with WAP standardsAnalyze energy bills and the results of the energy audit using computer software (NEAT, MHEA or EA-QUIP)Prepare a written report of audit findings, including retrofit recommendations; identify health and safety issuesPrepare detailed work scopes and comprehensive work orders, pricing, measures, and quantities for proposed retrofit workCoordinate service delivery with the Weatherization Supervisor and weatherization crewsAdhere to strict policies related to appointment promptness, in-home conduct, and appearanceEffectively and professionally communicates with clients throughout the processPerform client interviews and educate clients about energy conservation, evaluate weatherization and heating system needs using standard methods (blower door, IR camera, etc.)Perform select retrofit measures such as air sealing of the building shell and ductwork, weather-stripping, and installation of energy-efficient lightingPerform quality checks after products are installedMaintain program records and other program-related administrative duties according to established standards (State Weatherization Energy Manual and DOE protocol)Completes all necessary paperwork required for internal reporting though HESWAP databaseComply with company safety policies and proceduresPerforms final inspections utilizing Quality Control procedures.Performs other duties as assignedGeneralParticipate actively and represent PRAB in community life within Central New Jersey, including community events, neighborhood and community groups, advocacy efforts, policy-oriented forums, PRAB partnerships and collaborations, government agencies, and private institutionsConduct, attend, and participate in internal meetings to maintain and improve professional competenceWork diplomatically to solve problems within the organizationMaintain professional appearance and behaviorProduce monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports (both internal and external)Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance and punctualityPerform other duties as assigned by the Weatherization ManagerQUALIFICATIONSQuality Control Inspector BPI certification requiredBPI Envelop Professional and Building Analyst preferredAssociates degree in Energy Science or related field preferredAt least four (2) years’ experience in Energy Auditing preferredBilingual: English/Spanish preferredValid NJ Driver’s License with reliable vehicle.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESFully committed to PRAB’s vision, mission, and strategic goals and outcomesExcellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communications skillsAbility to work collaboratively with a fast paced, highly interactive staffProven ability to follow standard filing proceduresProven ability to work effectively in a team settingProven ability to work well with diverse groupsProven ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts, andProven ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressureProven ability to meet strict deadlines within time constraints, with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessComputer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrated maturity, integrity, and sound judgmentPhysical Demands and Working EnvironmentRegularly stand, sit, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smellFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsRegularly exposed to moving mechanical partsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heatOccasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibrationCompensation and HoursThis is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position (35 hour Per Week)Pay is based on an pre-established range and is commensurate with certification and experienceIncludes some early evening and weekend work hoursBenefits are generous, including paid employee health and dental insurance (some employee contribution required); voluntary vision and retirement plans are also availablePaid time off includes vacation, sick, and personal days, and holidaysPRAB IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER #J-18808-Ljbffr Junta-De-Accion-Puertorriquena-Inc
